Party Paraphernalia : a design blog

Swiss Legacy

As a student,  I spend a lot of time working on design projects to hone my skills. Oftentimes, however; I find it best to take a break, sit back, and take in some of the great work that other, more defined designers are producing.

I’m not entirely sure why, but for some time I have been greatly influenced by Swiss design. I don’t know if it’s the simplicity of the work, or the beauty of a complex subject defined and portrayed with mere lines, type, and the sometimes unnoticeable, but obviously inherent grid.

One such blog that I regularly visit is Swiss Legacy. ”Swiss Legacy, by the initiative of Xavier Encinas, is a collaborative blog focused on typography, swiss graphic design and grid.” Encinas, a successful French Art Director, currently lives in Paris and owns the design studio Peter&Wendy. He has been published in many international design magazines, and currently specializes in print, logotypes, and web projects.

Since 2007, Encinas and co-author, Octave Z, regularly update the blog with detailed posts including pictures and details of both their work and exhibitions, and other Swiss style works.
